"Everything in this show was touchable. The wired pieces are activated through touch and ambient air movement. They bounce and wiggle and shimmy and shake, each with its own unique qualities and character. Statically, they appear somewhat austere and elegant but upon activation they become immediately goofy and endearing.
There are so many precious, untouchable things in the art world, at first sight these appear to fit into that category. There wasn't any signage to encourage people to touch and play with the objects. This is important because I wanted people to have the excitement of uncertainty. Someone might tell them they could touch the work, or they might observe another person doing it and follow suit. But I like the idea of the action retaining some sense of mischievousness." -Amir Badawi
